Nick Kanakaris
Silent Partner
Nick Kanakaris has built his career around a passion for hospitality, great drinks, and creating memorable guest experiences. His journey began at Bourbon Street Wine & Spirits in Phillipsburg, NJ, where he was first introduced to the beverage industry from a retail perspective. At 21, Nick transitioned into restaurants, starting as a busser and runner before quickly moving behind the bar, where he discovered his love for bartending.
His first fine dining role came at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club, where he served as head bartender. From there, Nick spent five years with Landmark Hospitality at the Ryland Inn, growing into the role of Beverage Director. During his time there, he also led cocktail classes and contributed to programs at Stone House and Felina in Ridgewood.
Nick next joined the Sergeantsville Inn as Beverage Manager, where he collaborated with owner Jes Taylor to build cocktail menus, curate wine lists, and host tasting dinners—experiences that sparked his path into hospitality management. Nick rejoined Taylor at Aubrey’s Corner where he’ll serve as General Manager and continue to balance leadership with his love of bartending, often jumping behind the bar during a busy service.
Nick holds his Introductory Sommelier Certification and is currently pursuing his Bourbon Professional Certification, with plans to follow that with WSET Level 2. His approach to hospitality is rooted in warmth and connection: he believes dining should be more than food and drinks—it should feel like being welcomed into someone’s home.
